The House

A letter from the founders

Aune Vere was born from a shared belief in enduring beauty. We believe that luxury lives in the quiet emotional power of something made to last through generations with intention, memory, and soul. We believe that the objects we create should age gracefully, become intertwined with memory, and continuously reveal details that surprise and delight.

The brand is shaped by our experience in high fashion, olfactive practice, architecture, and design, and reflects a meeting of restraint and sensuality. Our collections in fine fragrance, sculptural jewelry, heirloom leather, and eyewear are designed for those who value subtle strength, timelessness, and the poetry of imperfection.

Aune Vere carries many meanings. Aune comes from the Old French word for the alder tree, a wood that turns red when cut and hardens to stone in water. Vere is drawn from the Latin verus and ver: truth, spring, new growth. To us, Aune Vere means a single truth, a universe unto itself, a beginning, an anniversary worth celebrating. We invite you to discover our vision of luxury that endures: beauty with quiet confidence, alive within the soul.

The brand

Aune Vere is guided by a belief that beauty is felt through sight, touch, scent, memory, and by the role these artifacts play in our relationships with the people we love. The brand's universe is sensual yet restrained, defined by pure materials, quiet confidence, and a timeless modernity that resists excess. Every object, from a hand-finished gold ring to a bottle of perfume, is designed as part of a person's life story, evolving with them and deepening in meaning over time.

The design philosophy of Aune Vere is shaped by dualities: substance and subtlety, history and innovation, weight and lightness. Gold serves as a metaphor for grounded permanence and strength, while our optimistic outlook on the future is expressed in the lightness, color, and movement in each design. This balance defines the Aune Vere aesthetic: objects that carry gravitas yet feel effortless, sensual, and alive.

The brand also reflects the quiet poise of the countryside and the rugged poetry of the Highlands. Aune refers to the alder tree, which hardens rather than rotting when exposed to water, and whose wood turns deep red when cut. Alder has traditionally been used for leather tooling and shipbuilding. Vere refers to vérité: truth, honesty, and universality.

The fragrance collection

Aune Vere approaches scent as the house's emotional signature. The direction is modern, intimate, and quietly memorable, with compositions built on natural materials, textural contrasts, and a sense of lived-in elegance. Bottles and accords are conceived together so that form and fragrance feel inseparable.

The collection is composed with perfumer Laurent Le Guernec, whose work bridges classic craft and contemporary clarity. A Paris-born, ISIPCA-trained perfumer, his work includes the FiFi Award-winning Michael by Michael Kors, notable successes across Bond No. 9 and other houses, and 2571 Eau de Parfum, created with Nicolas Arauz and named by the Fragrance Foundation as one of the top five independent fragrances launched in 2024.

The limited edition vessels are designed by Nicolas Arauz and made by hand with ceramicist Ori Carlin at his studio on the Rokeby Estate in the Hudson Valley, New York. Each applicator is handmade in borosilicate glass, for a vessel that is entirely fossil-free.
